Kurt M. Dobbins from Ohio is currently living In Galion Ohio. Kurt was in the Navy for 4 years and went on to attended the North Idaho College Millwright/Machinist Program. Currently Kurt is working as a Tool & Die Maker where he makes and designs tools for the automotive industry. Kurt recently designed a wood router adapter to facilitate with inlay for his woodworking & luthier projects and will be at the Columbus show providing seminars on Inlay, Banjo Building and lamp building.

Saturday: Inlay and Simple Box Building - 10:30

In this seminar Kurt will cover building a simple box using a basic block of wood that uses a magnet for closure perfect for any inlay project. Also Kurt will cover an introduction to inlay where he will go over the basics of his inlay process. Kurt incorporates shrinkable plastic as the medium for these projects and it’s simple, inexpensive and easy. This technique will give you a new medium to work with that can really make your projects standout.

Saturday: Lamp Building - 2:30

In this seminar Kurt will show you how to make lamps from unique figured wood sticks, branches or roots found in nature. Kurt has a unique technique for running electrical wires through the wood making it look seamless and natural. his process is easily understood and makes for a fun weekend project which really adds a cool touch to indoor lighting.
