Bradley McCalister brings a comfortable style of education to the seminars that he has developed teaching and demonstrating as a professional woodturner. He began turning as a new creative outlet for himself in 2007 after watching his father working on a lathe. Bradley was soon exhibiting and selling his work in galleries, art shows, outdoor markets, and private collections.
Honoring woodturning as both ancient art and modern expression, he passionately believes in teaching others his craft. Bradley works with woodturning clubs as a mentor and hands-on teacher across the country and is a product demonstrator for manufacturers of woodturning tools and equipment. Bradley continues to expand his ability to teach his craft now through on-line educational courses available at The Studios of Bradley R.M. A natural demonstrator, Bradley’s one and a half hour seminars approached 150 in the 2016 show season.
Bradley will be offering a broad selection of seminars with several new and updated programs for the beginning, intermediate and advanced woodturner. Please see Bradley’s schedule for more details on all his seminars. All seminars include multiple cameras and monitors, allowing for the best view at any particular stage of the process.
Bradley has a true love for the craft of woodturning, and will always make time for just one more question. When he isn’t traveling and teaching, Bradley will be found turning and filming educational courses for The Studios of Bradley R.M., his on-line woodturning school. Bradley also enjoys working in the lawn & garden of his century-old house in rural South Georgia. When it’s time to relax, and enjoy a glass of tea, it’s swing time on front porch. Don’t forget to ask him about his metal yard-art goats, and why he is known as “The Goat Man of Metter.” For more information about Bradley’s woodturning art and educational courses, visit www.bradleyrm.com.
